Why did we create this site?

  • Educate cities: Introducing bike sharing can seem daunting and is often complicated by outdated information.

  • Prevent misguided requirements: Ensure that tender documents avoid requirements that could hinder the success of the program in your city.

  • Streamline public procurement: Simplify the public procurement process for both the city and the invited bike-sharing providers, making it faster and more efficient.

How do we think about bike sharing in cities?

European cities are changing
Cars and asphalt have dominated cities, but that is beginning to change. People want to reclaim their public spaces, choosing to spend time in them rather than escaping as quickly as possible due to dangers, pollution, and noise. They no longer want to waste their lives stuck in endless traffic, confined to a metal box and cut off from their surroundings. Instead, they simply want to reach their destinations quickly—whether alone or with others—and actually enjoy the journey.

We exist to help with that change
Especially when we see a city with an appetite for change. Offering shared bikes is our way of contributing to this transformation. For us, bike sharing represents more than just a collection of bikes and an app; it’s a new way to experience the city. It fosters a community of individuals who share similar values and beliefs. Additionally, it serves as a platform for education, facilitates important conversations, and provides valuable data on actual behaviors and needs within the city.

We complement similar transportation
We have shared goals of providing sustainable alternatives, particularly for short journeys. We believe that mechanical bikes, e-bikes, and e-scooters are not competitors but rather choices that cater to the diverse needs of individuals. In Prague and Bratislava, we have partnered with other micromobility providers to collaborate more effectively with city officials. Our efforts include consulting on infrastructure improvements, optimizing parking solutions, and offering alternative routes during tram track maintenance.

We always start small and gradually grow
That's how we originated. We started as a community project in 2013 that wanted to bring shared bikes to Prague, Czechia. And we slowly grew into a regular company with thousands of bikes and millions of rides. We learned to offer affordable pilot operations so other small Czech cities could get a taste of the benefits of bike sharing. For a few months or all year round. We started small again in 2020 in Bratislava, Slovakia. We started there, on our own, with just a few hundred bikes. Partnering with a local cycling community. We wanted to find the right fit, gain trust, and help shape the change. And we did. Right now we’re doing that again in Tallinn, Estonia.

And we would love to be part of other cities as well - feel free to invite us to your public procurement process.
